I planned for HERETIC and all subsequent installments in The Covington Witch Chronicles to be shorter novels, or novellas. However, plans change when you write by a mix of pants/plotting. Maybe I’m getting overwhelmed with the fact that I have Eliza in America in 1685 and 2014. But is she there the entire time? She was sent to gobble up the souls of the new, pious colonists. She does, but she’s Eliza fucking Covington and there’s a helluva lot more for this evil witch to slaughter. So many other ideas came to me and I’m expanding HERETIC into a novel. But don’t fret! The novel only spans perhaps eight years 1685-1693. That time span itself could change, but that’s the pocket I’m currently within. I prefer to stay around 300ish pages when I write a novel, but I’ll see where this imperative part of her life takes my typing fingers :) -B
